Body
My next hobby project on the line, after painting my remaining Orphans, is to get them some adversary on the table. The second faction I own, coming from the 2-player starter, is the Rocavivas, a nation of small but strong angry ladies with Napoleon complex.
I know the game is dead, but I really enjoy the look of the models and the world lore. Worst case, if I don't enjoy the gameplay, I'll find an agnostic ruleset to use them with.
Model prep
I cleaned and prepared the few Rocavivas you can see in the pictures. Those were not intro level models for sure. Lots of flash, but luckily not too many moldlines. Some bubbles to fill. And the worst part, lots of breaks in their tiny weapon poles and handles. I had to drill and pin multiple of them with small brass rods. This wasn't a problem with the Orphans, that where chunkier.
Two pairs of models were repeat. I did some slight twisting with hot water, and also some slight conversion by cutting arms and reposing with green stuff. Nothing major, but it will prevent having exact copies.
I finished the prep with a quick zenithal priming. I'm not sure yet how I want to paint them, so I might have to go back in with some more drybrushing and controlled white, in case I go the glaze method. I have to decide if I want to keep the same level of quality as I did the Orphans, or if I go faster and just get them ready to play. We'll see soon. :)
