Word Forge Games has smashed the Kickstarter target for the follow-up to the award-winning World War II tabletop game, D-Day Dice. This must be a great relief after spending the last decade paving the way.
The cunningly titled “D-Day Dice: Pacific” takes the players to the Pacific theatre and is far from peaceful in character or intent.
The standalone game puts players in command of Allied forces from four nations—the USA, UK, India, and Australia—as they battle through randomly generated jungle terrain towards heavily defended Japanese bunkers. Each battle map offers at least 648 different combinations, featuring hazards including infested sectors, rivers, and caves, alongside the constant threat of enemy air strikes. [I was in a band called ‘Infected Sector’. Probably.]
Alongside Pacific, Word Forge is releasing the H-Hour expansion box, which is compatible with all versions of the parent game. The module introduces new mechanics, including Special Missions, Battle Conditions, and The Way to Hell mini-game, adding another layer to the core game.
