Chaos Kill Teams Incoming!
Fun fact: Crap Meanies is an anagram of Space Marine; which is ironic when you consider these two new Chaos Kill Teams are so good it's scary.
As discussed in a previous lesson, a new edition of Kill Team is upon us; and that means all new Kill Teams. We've already looked a plethora of other such new teams, but we've saved the best until the last.
The Legionaries are the first of two new Chaos Space Marine teams. As you might expect, they are twisted, spikey reflections of their loyalist enemies, and are armed with much the same weapons and armour. However, their dedication to their varied Chaos deities not only sets them apart, it brings profane benefits. When fielding a team of Legionaries, for instance, a player can decide which of the Chaos gods each Legionnaire worships. Each Chaos god bequeaths different benefits to its disciples. Servants of Khorne, for instance, are more destructive in melee, whilst those who worship Slaanesh are faster than the rest of their chaotic brethren.
The Legionaries also include a sorcerous Balefire Acolyte. This model is able to heal its allies by sucking the life out its enemies.
Whilst the Legionaries offer a general selection of Chaos nutters, the Nemesis Claw are a very specialised type of crazy. These terror troops owe their allegiance to the Night Lords legion and are devastating in close combat.
Not a problem, you might think, I'll just pick them off at range.
Wrong. The Nemesis Claws are considered as obscured if they have any heavy terrain within their control range or part of its base is underneath vantage terrain or they are more than 6" away from an enemy. They also collect bits of their fallen enemies to flaunt as trophies; this has the effect of lowering their enemies' Atk stats. Oh, and the can use Return to Darkness to move ... yes, you guessed it ... within their control range of that heavy or vantage terrain we mentioned earlier.
In summary, any sane player faced with the prospect of fighting these guys might have more fun beating their genitals with a tenderizer...
...And Slaanesh would approve.
