So if you're a fan of the TravellerRPG one of the defining moments is the Fifth Frontier War (FFW) which saw the Zhodani Consulate go to war with the Imperium in a big way.
Today sees the release of the first adventure based in that war, Flashpoints. However, unlike traditional adventures from Mongoose for Traveller, it appears to be a full-blooded (pun intended) adventure, coming in at a weighty 136 pages (compared to an average adventure length of 32 pages).
It compares to some of the campaign books in a sense, not as in-depth with background material, but plenty of material and information allowing the referee to run this adventure. It can also spawn of a number of side adventures beyond those already in this book. Plus it includes some new equipment (gear and weapons) and stats on new ships, everything you'd expect in a Traveller adventure.
It's also a great starting point for new Refeere's and players. One of the challenges of Traveller is know where to start and what the team of adventurers (Travellers) will know. Due to the turmoil around the war, there's plenty of scope for assumed knowledge to be wrong, but also to expand the knowledge of a group that kept themselves to themselves.
So, buckle in your seat, get the nav computer to plot a new jump and get involved at Utoland.
