Body
I love this industry. I love the imagination, the passion and the skill that you see in every new game, every new expansion and every new miniature. I love the rainbow of colour and the galaxy of different worlds. I love it, and I feel blessed to have earnt a living working in it.
But.
Sometimes, just sometimes, it all feels a little … repetitive? After all, there’s only so many bloated, miniature-heavy crowdfunders that even the most covetous hoarder of unpainted plastic could need, right? Only so many grim futures? Only so many dark heroes and dim villains? Only so many dungeons and so many dragons?
But, just when I start to feel a little jaded, something new and original comes along. Something sweet and bright and brimming with inspiration…
…Something like Midnight Muscadines.
Created by Pandion Games, Midnight Muscadines is set in a world in which magic is fading. And so it falls to the player characters to ‘collect and preserve the last sources of magic into highly coveted jams that keep the world’s magic alive’.
Yep, you read that right: magic jam. What’s not to love?
Characters brave a perilous world which is fading under the curse of the Wildernight. Their only hope of turning back this darkness lays in ‘wondrous magical ingredients’ with which they can create magical jams.
But it’s not all about creating uncanny compotes; Midnight Muscadines’ system includes rules for more conventional roleplaying, including combat, magic, character progression et al. But, yeah, it’s mostly about making jam…
…And I’m here for it.
See the Midnight Muscadines Backerkit page for more details.
